Fingertips pink in the aftershock of a violent blooming. Fast forward, it is waiting to collapse on a kitchen table. Rewind, it is collapsing into a star. White lights and violent blooming. Time is soft, the flower is friction. You let it die to remember that it lived. It’s not youth you are seeking, but the candy colour of your cheeks.

— Original poem written in 2025 for Petal 2
