POEM STORE GRAND OPENING: This week's debut selection of poetry reaches into my backlog to present a selection of four poems, each about a specific colour chosen to represent that very particular moment in time. BUTTER, JUNE 2026. ORCHID JELLY, MAY 2026. PULP, JANUARY 2026. DOT DOT DOT, JANUARY 2025. Featured above: A video poem, excerpted from DOT DOT DOT.
Did you forget the way birds twinkle & chirp in only this light? The same light somewhere making wormholes & bread / I once had half its colour & twice the metaphor, prism hinting at a truth trapped in a moth / It doesn't matter if it's going up or down when you look out far enough, now because you started the ball bounces the poached egg breaks & bleeds, delicate matters make grief / Now there’s a butterfly in your chest. You hold, not knowing if it will burst or fly. Maybe this is the dream.
The muggy blue void
still waits to swallow you
The same light somewhere
making wormholes & bread
this is still the sky that
belongs to cherry blossoms
& jet trails
half its colour &
twice the metaphor
